Based in North Riding · 45 minutes in every direction
When the city's water stops, yours keeps running.
A tank beside the house, kept full off the municipal line. The moment that line drops,
a valve switches over on its own and a pump holds your pressure. You carry on.
We are a small outfit based in North Riding. You will deal with the same
two people from the first message to the day it is switched on.

Question 1 of 4
How big is the house?
We size on bathrooms. Nobody knows how many litres they use, and you shouldn't have to work it out.
Question 2 of 4
How steady do you want the pressure?
This is the one choice that really changes the price, so here is what the difference actually looks like at your taps.
Worth it if your pressure is already poor in the mornings, if you have a big house with several bathrooms in use at the same time, or if the pump sits near a bedroom.
Question 3 of 4
Do you want the water treated?
Your tank holds the same municipal water that comes out of your taps today. These are improvements on it, not repairs to it.
Question 4 of 4
Roughly how far is the tank from the house?
This is the one thing that genuinely changes the cost of a job, so we ask it up front instead of adding it to your bill afterwards. Pace it out — a rough number is fine.
Every package already includes 30 metres of pipe and 30 metres of cable. That covers the large majority of houses. Beyond 50 metres we price it properly on the call rather than put a number on this page we might not be able to keep.

Here is your price
Everything below is in the number. If anything about your property would change it, you hear that before you have committed to anything, not afterwards on an invoice.
In the price
What could still change it
A pipe run over 50 metres, or one that has to cross a driveway
No spare way on your DB board for the pump
Ground that needs levelling or a retaining wall before the tank can stand
Access too narrow to get the tank in, where it has to be craned
We are new in Johannesburg North and we are not going to pretend otherwise. So rather
than tell you about anyone else, here is exactly what we commit to.
The whole thing is arranged online
A handful of photos on WhatsApp is all it takes to price your house properly. No
salesman in your lounge, no afternoon off work, and nobody adjusting the number based
on what is parked in your driveway. If you would rather we came out, we will — but it
is your call, not a condition.
One price, and it holds
Pipe, cable, fittings, the plinth, the plumber and the certificate are all inside it.
Thirty metres of pipe and cable are included as standard. You agree a number and that
is the number you pay.
Certified, and you keep the paperwork
Your pump is an electrical installation and the tie-in to the municipal line is plumbing
work. A PIRB-registered plumber does it and signs a certificate of compliance. You will
want that document the day you sell the house.
Two years on our work, ten on the tank
Two full years of warranty on the installation itself. The tank carries a ten-year
factory warranty on top of that. If something we did goes wrong inside those two years,
we come back and it costs you nothing.
A date, and we are on it
You get an installation date rather than a promise to call you back, usually within a
week. Most houses are finished in a single day. If we are going to be late you hear it
from us first.
Close enough to come back
We work a 45-minute radius around North Riding and nothing beyond it. If something
needs attention in a year's time we are a short drive away, not three days out and
somewhere across the province.
Where we work
Forty-five minutes from our door, and not a kilometre further
We are based in North Riding. Rather than claim the whole province and then take three
days to come back out to you, we drew a circle around ourselves and we stay inside it.
That circle covers most of Johannesburg north.
A sketch, not a survey. Drive times vary with traffic, which is the honest reason we ask for your address.
Is your suburb in?
Type it in and find out before you spend a minute on anything else.
Right around us
North Riding, Olivedale, Bloubosrand, Jackal Creek, Eagle Canyon, Honeydew,
Ruimsig, Kya Sand, Strijdom Park and Cosmo City. Twenty minutes at most.
North and up the N14
Fourways, Dainfern, Steyn City, Lonehill, Douglasdale, Paulshof, Sunninghill,
Kyalami, Waterfall, Midrand and out to Lanseria.
East towards Sandton
Sandton, Bryanston, Morningside, Rivonia, Woodmead, Hyde Park, Illovo and Rosebank.
Close to the edge and not sure? Send us the address anyway. If the drive works we will
say yes, and if it does not we will tell you straight instead of taking the booking.
How it works
What you are actually buying
A tank beside the house, kept full off the municipal line. When that line drops, a valve
switches over on its own and a pump holds your pressure. Try it for yourself.
Live changeoverMunicipal supply
Everything runs off the municipal line. Your tank quietly stays full in the background.
1
You price it here
A minute, no details required. You know the number before we know your name.
2
We WhatsApp you
We ask for two or three photos: where the tank would go, your water meter and your DB board. Five minutes on your phone, whenever it suits you. Prefer to talk, or want someone to come out? Say so and we will arrange it.
3
Your price, in writing
Same day. An itemised quote with the make and model of every part on it, and an installation date. Nothing to pay to get this far.
4
Installation day
Usually one day. A PIRB-registered plumber does the connection and signs the certificate of compliance.
5
We show you how it works
Where the valve is, how to read the gauge, what to do if it ever sounds wrong. Then we get out of your house.
Why people are doing this now
You probably already know why — you have had the mornings with no pressure. The short
version: Johannesburg's network holds roughly 27 hours of storage, loses
about a third of its water to leaks and bursts, and had
20 reservoirs running on bypass in May. Midrand went close to a week
without water in February. Nothing published suggests the north is exempt — only that it
has not been its turn.
EWN, Daily Maverick, TimesLive and The Citizen, 2026. The reservoir capacity figure comes from an industry source rather than the city.

Questions
The things people actually ask
Do I have to have someone come round?
No, and that is rather the point. A standard house has four things we need to see: where the tank goes, where your meter is, how far the run to the house is, and whether your DB board has a spare way. Two or three photos on WhatsApp covers all four, and you can take them whenever it suits you. If you would rather talk it through on a call, or have one of us come out and look, we are happy to — just tell us when you ask for the quote.
Is the price really fixed?
Yes. Pipe, cable, fittings, the plinth, the plumber and the certificate are all inside it, including 30 metres of pipe and 30 metres of cable. Once we have seen your house on the call we confirm the number in writing, and that is what you pay.
What do I pay, and when?
Nothing to get a price — the calculator, the quote and a visit if you want one are all free, and there is no call-out fee. You pay a deposit when you accept the quote and book a date, and the balance once the system is running and you are happy. If you would rather spread it, we can set you up with Mobicred.
How long does the water last?
A 5 250 L tank runs a four-person household normally — showers, washing, toilets — for roughly two to three days. Stretch it to drinking, cooking and flushing only and you will get the better part of a week.
Do I have to do anything when the water goes off?
No. That is the whole point of the changeover valve. The municipal line drops, the valve switches, the pump holds your pressure. Most people find out there was an outage from the neighbourhood group.
What is a VSD pump, in plain language?
VSD stands for variable speed drive. An ordinary booster pump runs flat out until the pressure is high enough, cuts out, then kicks in again — which is why pressure surges slightly and why you hear it. A VSD speeds the motor up and slows it down instead, holding one steady pressure. It is quieter, easier on the pump, and it copes when two showers run at once.
Is the water safe to drink?
Your tank holds the same municipal water that comes out of your taps now. Add the 3-stage whole-house filter and you have improved on that; add UV and it is sterilised as well. If drinking water is your main concern, say so when you ask for the quote and we will size it for that.
Will it fit? My yard is small.
Usually, yes. Slimline tanks stand flat against a wall and take up about the depth of a wheelie bin. Send us a photo of the spot and you will have a straight answer the same day.
Which tanks and pumps do you use?
JoJo tanks in most cases, the ones you already see on every second property in Gauteng, with a ten-year factory warranty. The exact make and model of tank and pump are written on your quote. Nothing arrives on your property as a surprise.
How do I know if you cover me?
We work a 45-minute drive from North Riding, which takes in most of Johannesburg north — out to Lanseria and Midrand, across to Sandton and Rivonia, and down through Randburg to Parktown and Houghton. There is a suburb checker further up this page. If you are near the edge, send the address anyway and we will give you a straight answer.
